Buick Encore SUV: had its world debut today at the 2012 Detroit Auto
Show. The Buick Encore is 168.5-inch in length, 69.9-inch in width and
64.8-inch in height. With a 100.6-inch wheelbase and a 6.2-inch minimum
ground clearance, the Buick Encore could have some off-road
capabilities. Buick will sell the 2013 Encore with a single engine
choice: a 1.4L turbocharged DOHC I-4 gasoline engine, which is good for
140 hp / 103 kW at 4900 rpm and 148 lb-ft / 200 Nm of torque at 1850
rpm.
The engine will be mated to a HydraMatic 6T40 6-speed automatic
transmission. The full specifications and features of the Buick
Encore
are available lower down this page. Even though they did not announce
its price yet, Buick did mention it will go on sale in the first quarter
of 2013.
Offering seating for five passengers and a 48.4 cubic feet (1,372
liters) boot, the Buick Encore, with its all-wheel-drive system, will
fall in the same category as the BMW X1 and the Audi Q3.
